Council Meeting Notes – January 10, 2009


Meeting opened with a prayer at 12:10 PM. Roll was taken. The December Council meeting minutes were approved as presented. The December treasurer’s report was approved as presented. The offerings for called workers were accumulated for December. It was moved and passed to give each called worker $460.

Pastor’s Report
- There is still activity in the narthex during the service. Council members are reminded to set good examples.
- Remember to give a copy of all calls (teacher, etc) to Pastor so he can file them.

Board of Elders Report
- The City of Fridley will have a hearing January 20 at 7:00 PM regarding Unity Hospital work to be done in the open lot.
- The nominating committee is to consider nominations for this year’s delegates.
- We will have a CLC 50th anniversary service on May 16. Council members are to think about a possible guest pastor and a subject.
- A visitation committee is being considered.
- Voter attendance for 2009 is being reviewed.
- The boards and individual Council members should review the handbook to keep up with necessary action items.

Board of Education Report
- The Minnesota Teachers Conference will be held February 15 at Grace.
- Maintenance items: door to utility room, light ballasts in Mrs. Radichel’s room, girls school bathroom, boys school bathroom.
- Mrs. Bergstrom will return to teaching when she is recovered from her surgery.
- Part-time teaching calls are being removed.

Board of Trustees Report
- A professional plumber will be hired for some water leaks.

Other Business
- The voter meeting is next week. Be prepared to have elections for 2010.
- It was moved and passed to recommend $50,000 for CBP to the voters.

Meeting adjourned with the Lord’s Prayer at 12:48 PM.
