Our Savior's Intense Zeal as the Son of God
1. Revealed in His concern for His Father's House
2. Veiled in His work for His Father's Plan

John 2:13-22
(13) Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. (14) And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangers doing business. (15) When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers' money and overturned the tables. (16) And He said to those who sold doves, "Take these things away! Do not make My Father's house a house of merchandise!" (17) Then His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up." (18) So the Jews answered and said to Him, "What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?" (19) Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." (20) Then the Jews said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?" (21) But He was speaking of the temple of His body. (22) Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

Sermon Theme:

DO YOU WANT JESUS TO BE ASHAMED OF YOU?
1. Never! Even when one wants to silence the message
2. Never! Even when one finds the cross difficult to bear

Mark 8:31-38
(31) And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. (32) He spoke this word openly. And Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. (33) But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, "Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men." (34) When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. (35) "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. (36) "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? (37) "Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (38) "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels." (NKJV)
